Biography
I have been studying craft and design since September 2019. I graduated from high school in June 2019 with a bilingual diploma, French immersion diploma and honors. I went straight from high school to college where I was surprised to find that I was the youngest in the class.
I have always been a creative person and I have been immersed in many different forms of creativity. As a child I enjoyed painting, colouring and just about any craft project. When I was a little older I enjoyed things like knitting and crochet. Over time I learned many different knitting and crocheting techniques as well as embroidery, cross stitch, rug hooking and weaving.
When I was 17 years old I took my high school woodshop program, where I was introduced to many new machines that I had never worked on before. Once I got over my nerves about working on such powerful machines, I found that I really enjoyed woodworking.
When I arrived at Sheridan college, not only was I able to work in a very well equipped woodworking studio but I also had access to four other studios. During my first year at Sheridan I took a short class in the glass studio and completely fell in love with it. From there on out I have loved working with both wood and glass. I enjoy creating handmade objects that are personal and that can bring tears of joy to people's eyes. I enjoy giving clients a piece that is well thought out and functional as well as elegant and trustworthy. I have found that being able to work in the ways that I do can be very rewarding. I have found that when I am able to spend time building and creating it offers a period of time when you are able to focus on only what you are doing at that moment. Working hands on allows you to forget about everything else for a period of time and enjoy the process of making.
